Amazing Race Finale!

The four teams (Zev and Justin, Gary and Mallory, Keisha and Jen, and the Globetrotters) started out in Switzerland.  They were then told to get to Rio de Janeiro.  Zev and Justin and the Globetrotters initially had a much better flight, but evidently Big Easy isn't a good liar, so Gary and Mallory and Keisha and Jen found out about the earlier flight.

They then had to ride this tram to a staircase and find their next clue.  The Globetrotters got a bad cab driver and missed the first tram, which put them 30 minutes behind.  Except that the next clue led to a Road Block and Zev had to do it....It was a dance challenge and as Zev said, he has white-boy rhythm.  It wasn't pretty.  He tried to complete the challenge at least twice as many times as anyone else.  So the Globetrotters caught up.

Gary and Mallory finished the Road Block first with Keisha and Jen close behind.  Then the Globetrotters and then Zev and Justin.  All team members then had to undergo a Brazilian wax.  Looked painful and awful.

Then it was the Detour.  On the Rocks or On the Beach.  In On the Rocks, teams had to correctly make 100 cocktails, while in On the Beach, teams had to sell bikinis on the beach and have the buyers model the bikinis until they made 100 Brazilian currencies...  Gary and Mallory, Keisha and Jen, and the Globetrotters chose Rocks, while Zev and Justin chose Beach.  Rocks was easy, once the teams got the recipe down, Beach, not so much.  Finally Zev and Justin switched to Rocks, but they were too far behind.

Gary and Mallory finished first, followed by Keisha and Jen, Flighttime and Big Easy, and finally, Zev and Justin.  Justin said some pretty nice things about Zev and the race and both looked really happy to have done it together.

That was Brazil.  Now, for the race to the Finish.
The three teams had to make their way to Miami and all were on the same flight.  Once in Miami, they had to take a taxi to the Marina.  Gary and Mallory got a bad cabbie who didn't know the way and refused to let them ask for directions.  I yelled at my t.v., lose the cabbie and pick another cab.  This is an often fatal flaw that all racers seem to possess.  You are in a race and this is a person you have never met and will never again meet, why do you have some loyalty to them?

At the Marina, there was a Road Block.  In this Road Block, one team member had to drive a forklift and pick up a boat and deposit it in dry-dock.  Looked harder than it was.  None of the teams had any trouble and Gary drove the forklift like a pro.

Then, there was another Road-Block.  On this Road Block, the team member had to drive a personal submarine and find a clue in a treasure box.  There were a lot of treasure boxes and mermaids and a mermaid band.  It was very strange.  Keisha and Jen were the first out of both Road Blocks, followed by the Globetrotters and then, Gary and Mallory.

Now, they had to walk through a shallow part of the ocean to an island and find their next clue.  The order was maintained.

On to the trailer park/retirement community.  Each team had to set up a small camper so that it looked like the brochure.  Which was kitschy and terrible.  It went fine until the wind picked up and each team's awning and fence and basically everything moved with the wind.  Keisha and Jen and the Globetrotters kept getting the judge to look at their work, but they had missed little details with their tables.  Keisha and Jen finished the task first and made it to the Historic Seven Mile Bridge, which they had to ride across, on adult tricycles, in the heavy wind.   The Globetrotters saw them on the Bridge, but with the wind, they couldn't catch up.  Keisha and Jen were the first team to arrive at the mat and won the Race.  They hadn't won a single leg except for that one.  They said some pretty cool stuff about each other and their mom.  It made me tear up and then, the last comment was by Justin and Zev, which was weird, but I was fine with it.

Until next season...which I hope isn't too far away...
